Systems thinking and time lags in the Sahel
Hello,
I have returned after a week’s break, but your patience has been rewarded:
I wrote a review of The Logic of Failure, by Dietrich Dörner. It deals with ‘complex situations’ — when there are lots of variables that interact with each other. Like in an ecosystem, or in a country coping with a pandemic. Give it a read and let me know what you think!
I saw the book on the Diff’s reading list, from the newsletter by Byrne Hobart. I also liked his piece on electricity and the cloud as enabling technologies.
If you’re looking to read about British politics, Col. Saunderson has a great piece on Deano. Warning: you are liable to get obsessed with Deano if you click.
And I’ve been reading Sarah Ruden’s translation of the Gospels. Check out Mark 8:
Til next week,
Fergus
